J.P. Moreland Schools an Obnoxious Atheist

Atheist

Here is a completely charming ID the Future episode. Historian of science Michael Keas hosts philosopher J.P. Moreland, both Fellows with the Center for Science & Culture. The subject of the conversation is Moreland’s new book, Scientism and Secularism: Learning to Respond to a Dangerous Ideology.

Download the podcast or listen to it here.

Dr. Moreland explains what “scientism” means and the conversation proceeds to a recounting of a conversation at a well known medical school with a Johns Hopkins PhD, a virulent atheist and “very obvious person.” Moreland heard the fellow out and then, in only the most pleasant and winsome way, explained why his views on epistemology were self-refuting, leaving the gentleman “devastated.”

This is the first in a series of conversations between Keas and Moreland, which I’m looking forward to.
